Rink Revitalization Program, 2021 – March 2022, Now Open

The Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage is pleased to announce the availability of the Rink Revitalization Program, for projects that can be completed between November 2021 and March 1, 2022.

The Rink Revitalization Program is designed to assist community groups, not-for-profit organizations, and municipalities who are operating rinks, to invest in the revitalization infrastructure that will support the sustainability of the facility. Rinks include curling clubs and arenas as well as outdoor rinks of a permanent nature. The rink must be open to all members of the public at reasonable times and at a reasonable rate.

The RRP grant is eligible for large or small projects, and includes infrastructure repair projects such as replacing boards, upgrading refrigeration or improving seating or canteen spaces. Multiple revitalization or repair projects can be bundled into one application.

Funding:

Projects are eligible to apply for up to one-third (1/3) of the total capital cost of the project to a maximum of $150,000.  An organization is eligible to receive one (1) grant per year for a project.  Funding received from other provincial government departments can affect the amount of the grant awarded. The total provincial government contribution cannot exceed three quarters (3/4) of the total project cost.

Timeline:  The application process is now open: applications are being accepted from October 18th to 4:30pm, November 15th, 2021.

Please contact the Regional Manager in your area (see contact list below) to request an information and application package.
